South America Album by Guest Designer Marcie Nowell
Thursday, April 30, 2009This album is SO INCREDIBLE ... I snapped over 500 shots of it getting it ready for this blog! What more can I say!
Today you've discovered where we'll be traveling over the next 5 days. South America. Before we stop at any of the countries we're going to take a tour of the FRONT, BACK, and INSIDE album COVERS. Shall we hit the road!
You got a peak of the cover (above) so now we'll take a look at the spine.
NOTICE the spine itself isn't covered with paper. It's inked. Also NOTICE that Marcie used her Crop-a-dile, punched a hole at the top and added her ribbon. I LOVE THAT!
NOTICE how Marcie incorporates our Chipboard Essential Elements into her project. You'll see that she covers FRONT and BACK and the edges of every piece have been inked. What a polished presentation!
Marcie brought home a souvenir and attached as well. What a GREAT touch!
I LOVE the sheer ribbon tied around the tan satin ribbon. And can we talk about Marcie's penmanship! SERIOUSLY! That girl can write!
This is a close up of the COPY Marcie wrote and stamped on the album cover. The combination of her penmanship with stamping looks so savvy!
This is the BACK of the album cover.
This is INSIDE FRONT COVER.
This is INSIDE BACK COVER.
This is a shot of the INSIDE album spine. What we REALLY appreciated about this was that Marcie didn't even touch the center spine. How welcome is that! It doesn't at all make the album feel unfinished. In fact ... this album feels like a MASTERPIECE!
I LOVE this shot because it shows the varying thicknesses of the inserts Marcie used. I sent Marcie an 8x8 album with maybe a couple of chipboard inserts. Marcie created ALL of the remaining inserts for this album. And wait until you see them!
Again, I LOVE how Marcie just used ink for the spine!
Here is a shot of the album laying on its side. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how many of the pages extend PAST the album covers. So many of us are afraid to do this and here we have the perfect example of how FANTASTIC it is!
Besides inking the edges of many of her pieces Marcie also incorporated sewing machine stitching throughout the album.
And that was just the ALBUM COVER! Tomorrow we'll visit our first country!
Thank you Marcie!
Happy Paper Crafting!
