Peru ... by Guest Designer Marcie Nowell
Friday, May 01, 2009Our first stop ... PERU!
I LOVE this element that Marcie repeated throughout her album. 4 feet.
I was QUITE nervous about taking the album pages out of the album ... however ... I did. With GREAT care!
You'll see throughout our travels with Marcie that she repeats elements in each Chapter of her album. Sewing, stitching, chapter titles, the 4 feet ... watch for each of these elements and how Marcie uses repetition to create such a cohesive book.
Keep in mind when looking through these pages that MOST of them Marcie created for this book. Isn't that incredible!
The details are subtle and sophisticated.
This next page is one of my FAVORITES! Marcie constructed this pocket for this album! She has stitched along the bottom and the side to seal it. The top remains open and contains her memorabilia.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how Marcie used this striped ppiece of Winchester to create a sturdy binding.
This is the back of the pocket.
And here you can see that it really IS a pocket!
This next page is so clever! I LOVE how Marcie uses the Winchester die cut tags and combines them with stitching, brads and PHOTO CORNERS! How classy is this!
Marcie also uses stamping throughout her album and does so very subtly. Below she has three stamped pieces she has incorporated into the design. Also notice how she just stitches along the top left edge of the photo to attach it to the page. And take note of the repeated circle element.
Isn't this stamping a great touch! Add a couple of eyelets to polish.
Here's that stitching I was talking about. GORGEOUS touch!
I almost missed these three eyelets the first time I looked through this album.
And there you have it ... PERU! Wait till you see where Marcie takes us tomorrow!
Happy Paper Crafting!
Mischelle
