Greencar
It's another day in TAC's Going green week - and I am so thrilled to be a part of it!  So many specTACular ideas and inspiration!  I just LOVED Michelle McDaniels little ditty from yesterday!  SO cheerful and colorful - it would make anyone feel better!  I took our Going Green theme and decided to go for an "Irish Inspired" green card - using non traditional St. Patty's day stamps.  Bug of Fun came to mind  - when I first saw this girl, I am not sure why but I pictured her as a red-head - funny huh?   The trick with this stamp set is masking AND positioning - so I am gonna show you my quick and easy down and dirty masking/positioning!

I started out with Post-it notes, Mini Kai ScissorsBug of Fun stamp setCopic Caboodle Cardstock and Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

I stamped my car first onto my Copic Caboodle Cardstock - whatever is the front most item is what you want to start with.  Then while the ink was still wet I also stamped it right onto my post it note - you don't even have to re-ink!

Then I cut out my image to be masked.  I use the Mini Kai scissors for all my masking and paper piecing - they are fabulous for detail fine cutting and are well worth the extra money (great as a hostess benefit at 40% off too!)!  Since I was only masking out the top of the car I only cut that part but you could cut the whole image if you want.  After you have it cut place you "mask" on top of your stamped image.

OK so here is where it gets a little tricky!  You want your girl to be sitting in the front seat - and not like she is falling out of the car or going thru the windshield - right?  SO I took a second post-it note and line up the corner of the post -it with the edge of my mount that my girl stamp is on like this:

See how the left corner of my mount is lined up with the edge of the post it I am stamping on?  That is very important.  So now I am ready to figure out where to stamp my girl - and I use the post it note I just stamped to do that.  Place the girl post-it onto your stamped and masked car and position it into place.

You can see thru your girl post-it just enough to line it up with the windshield and seat to get the girl right where she needs to be.  You could also use vellum instead of a post-it note - but my post-its are usually right at hand and easy to find!

Once you have the girl Post-it lined up, WITHOUT stamping -  you want to hold your stamp above that post it note and line up that same corner you lined up when you stamped it.  Once you have it in place you slide the post it note out of the way - being very careful to steady your stamp - and then stamp it right down where you had it lined up.  and voila!

It sounds all hard and tricky - but once you do it a few times you will get better - just like anything else!  The hardest part is pulling out the post-it and keeping the stamping hand steady. You could also use a T-square to help if you can't make it work.

Once I had it all stamped I went to coloring with my Copic Markers.  (another item that is great to get as a hostess 40% off item!)  The Copic Caboodle Cardstock is perfect for blending and coloring on with Copic Markers!

To pull my card together I used Mia's Cottage Collection Cardstock and Pattern Paper.  What a great spring Palette!  I popped up the tag with the greeting and gave it a little more dimension and depth.

And I couldn't resist adding the Polo Mini Blossoms for a little sign of Spring and Bling!
