IMG_0108

I love a black, white, yellow, and red combination on cards, so TAC's Miss Moxie paper collection and coordinating cardstock was a natural choice to make this card.  To create it, I temporarily attached white and the brilliant yellow cardstock to a black folded card made from our #80 heavy weight black cardstock.  The large flower from Blossoms and Blessings was stamped in Versamark, then heat embossed in white or black embossing powder.  Oh no!!!!.........specks of stray embossing powder all over my papers!   Lesson learned....don't try embossing  without first rubbing the cardstock with an X-Static pouch!  So on my SECOND card, after using the X-Static pad and embossing, the white paper was removed and backed with red cardstock.  The words, also from Blossoms and Blessings, were embossed and backed by a small scrap from the Miss Moxie Soar With It collection.  And to contrast with all the loopity-loop petals of the flowers, a bit of linear ribbon was added.  The button and ribbon are from my stash.

Materials used to create this card:

  • V-841 Miss Moxie Soar With It Collection

  • B-319 Miss Moxie Cardstock

  • V-215 Black Cardstock

  • T-3371 Blossoms and Blessings stamp set

  • S-1179 Versamark stamp pad

  • S-769 Black embossing powder

  • S-759 White embossing powder

  • F-161 X-static pouch

This great sketch was provided by Heather Scott and slightly tweaked to accommodate the stamp placement.  As a stamper, you know the question: what do I do with that empty spot/space?  So the words were moved to fill it up (smiles)

Thanks so much for allowing me to share the results of my play time with you!  If you would like to see more of my cards, you can do a search under "bethparker" in the gallery at TAC's Paper Crafting Community:  http://theangelcompany.ning.com  And I hope to see YOUR creation as you play along with A Card A Day in the Month of May sketch challenge!

  4. Thanks, Chelsea and Debra! I appreciate your kind comments. I admire your coloring so much....but what can I say? I HATE to color; it is tedious WORK to me. Because so many of our images need to be colored, the positive/negative was my solution.
    Peace
    Beth
