#152 All aFlutter with Cricut Cards
Friday, August 08, 2014Life is Sweet
I've been going outside my box again ... which is always kind of scary.
Not so much so with this first card ... as I incorporated plenty of stamping. I must say though ... I LOVE using my Cricut to whip out my FABULOUS shapes ... and ... in every size I can imagine! LOVE!!!
So it's NO secret that I'm a paper hoarder ... can you imagine how I am with my
Glitter paper? Holy cow ... this paper is AWESOME to work with and the quality is 5 stars! You will LOVE it! My glitter paper also did GREAT in my Cricut! YES!
When I started this card I knew that I wanted to take the elements from the
Featured Technique I'm showcasing this month ~ Embossing ~ and center the layout. I typically right justify everything but this layout is also FABULOUS whether centered or a bit off-centered. It's so easy ... that's why it's my go to! TIP: I punched the turquoise glitter circles from a scrap of my glitter paper. I used my Crop-a-dile to do this. Two holes = 2 sizes. What a great way to add bling from scraps! Dream
When I was cutting with my Cricut ... I got carried away and cut out a handful of images ...
so I thought I'd try a couple more cards. I have to say ... these next two aren't my fav's. I've had a bug and I think it's showing in these cards. It's hard to think clearly when your head is so stuffy you can't breathe. LOL!
My favorite thing about this card is, without a doubt, the butterfly!
I added Liquid Glass to my green butterfly ... this paper is from Brushed ... LOVE! I set it aside, let it dry and then attached it to my turquoise glitter butterfly base. LOVE! The DREAM saying is one of the cut strips in Brushed.
All of my pieces were cut on my Cricut ...
which makes my work SUPER easy ... and my cuts are BEAUTIFUL! I added my twill ribbon for a pop of color ... because my favorite ribbons are still in storage. I think I might trim this down and re-shoot it. ???? Updated Dream
OH.MY.GOODNESS!
What a difference a little editing makes! I LOVE this card now! Butterfly Tree
I'm pretty sure that this card isn't finished yet ...
it needs SOMETHING ... between the butterfly and the greeting perhaps? Well, as soon as I figure that out I'll re-shoot it and post that as well. With all of my FAVORITE go-to supplies packed away ... I really have to think outside the box.
This card started because I wanted to add Liquid Glass to my Green Butterfly base. LOVE!
I also wanted to combine two different sized butterfly elements ... LOVE! I know ... I LOVE everything!
I embossed the tree ... from Family is Forever, our September Stamp of the Month ... with my
VersaMark pad and clear powder ... onto Kraft cardstock.
Again ... I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the small circles from my glitter paper ...
what a GREAT way to utilize tiny scrap pieces and create your own embellies! After I distressed the Kraft Cardstock I rubbed the edges with my VersaMark pad & embossed. And .... of course ... those Chevron shapes are the INSIDE pieces from the Chevron punch!
After I go to the store and pick up some coordinating ribbon ... re-shoot and show you the finished card!
For now ... we'll leave this idea as a WORK.IN.PROGRESS.
I hope you found something here that has inspired you!
Check back tomorrow for Stamp of the Month Saturday ... I'll be sharing my PRIMITIVE take on our FABULOUS Give a Hoot stamp set ... I think you'll like it. Or at least find it curious! |
