This is definitely a flashback!  Let's revisit a set of my most popular cards and the 'how-to' tutorial.  {Scroll down for the tutorial}

When I saw this card (LEFT) from Donna at DAT's My Style ... I was inspired to pull out my Frightfully Fun Stamp Set and start getting it inky.

I now have handfuls of little pieces colored and cut ... just waiting to be mounted on a card.

In the meantime ... I kept coloring.  And I thought it would be fun to incorporate my Sweet As Sugar Hostess Stamp Set and do something a little freaky ... which is so me!  {smiles}
Picture
I have to admit ...  this was SO.MUCH.FUN!  I LOVED coloring these images with my Twin Touch Markers!
I did use my Glacier Ink Pad and a sponge dauber to add a hint of color around my jars of skulls.
I also used my Graphite Pencil and a stump to drop some color in under the jars and ground them.
Picture
Picture
The jar in the middle and the single green skull are both on pop dots ...
it's kind of hard to see the dimension in my photo.
And of course ... I used Liquid Glass!
The light blue cardstock is CTMH Glacier.
The pink and orange are from my stash and I just sanded them for interest.

Haunted BOO!

Picture
And now we have CREEPY, EERY, haunted boo!
This was just as much FUN to color as Happy Boo!
The middle jar and single skull are also cut out and popped up.
Picture
So one of my FAVORITE new things is this Silver Washi Tape from CTMH.  I LOVE IT!
It has a GORGEOUS shimmer and shine to it ... so classy and elegant and frightfully fun!
OH!  And Liquid Glass ... it's as important as the air I breathe ... LOL!

For this card I used some of my Copic Grays ... I wanted a variety of gray tones.
I also used my W1 Gray to go over the back jars to bring down the green tone and make them
appear farther back.  I have a very heavy hand so I decided to start with light tones!

The cob webs I just sketched in randomly.
I also used my CTMH Whisper Ink Pad and sponge dauber to color all around this image.
This is an AWESOME ink pad that I will be using for many upcoming projects!

TIP:  I also relied heavily on my colorless blender to wash out my Pastel Green
and some of my Gray areas!

I highlighted areas with my Twin Touch Warm Grey 7 after I finished coloring.

I hope you enjoy my two takes on this design!
And for those visual folks, like me, the masking how to is below!

How To:  Mask Your Own Science Experiment

Picture
Start by stamping your image.
Picture
Next I covered it with what I call a NEGATIVE mask of the design.
Picture
I decided this would be easier if I masked off the bop and bottom also where the straight lines are located.
Picture
I stamped my first skull. I know it looks like a LOT of masks ... but don't let that intimidate you!
Picture
Put a mask over the skull you just stamped. We want this one in front so we need to protect it.
Picture
Stamp skull #2. I like at least one of these images to overlap so you can see that some skulls are in front and some are in back. I love the depth and dimension!
Picture
For my third stamp I didn't need to mask.
Picture
Remove your masks and you are good to go! You have a jar full of skulls!
Picture
For my BOO! cards I start by stamping this jar first.
Picture
Since it is all straight lines I can easily mask around it and stamp my images inside.
Picture
I went super simple with the ghosts.
Picture
Now put your mask over this jar to protect it.
Picture
Stamp your next jar.
Picture
To get an idea where I wanted to stamp my images I laid out my masks to try and help me visualize.
Picture
Then I stamped my next jar. TIP: You can also tell that I used my masks when I added my Glacier Blue background!
Picture
It was time to start filling my jars. In this case ...owls!
Picture
My next jar got bats.
Picture
Here is where we're at with all of the masks removed.
Picture
Add your mask to protect this jar of owls.
Picture
Stamp your next image. TIP: I stamped this image so the base is a bit higher than the others ... giving it the illusion of being further back on the shelf.
Picture
Leave on the mask that is on the jar to the left and ADD the negative of the image you just stamped.
Picture
I also masked off the top and bottom areas that have straight lines. It looks crazy but it's super simple!
Picture
I only added two bats because this image is kind of hidden.
Picture
Remove your masks and WALLA!
Picture
Then I attach all of my masks to the cover of stamp packaging. I will reuse these again and again ... until they wear out!
Picture
This is one side of my stamp set ... with my masks being stored.
Picture
And this is the other side of the stamp set ... with my images! It doesn't get any easier!
