#214 Thinking of You ... Crazy Cat Lady
Wednesday, November 02, 2016
This weeks Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is 'Thinking of You'. I needed some therapeutic coloring so this challenge was perfect for me - and my Vera Lane Studio digital stamps! I'm a HUGE Janet Klein fan and couldn't wait to color some quirky and whimsical images.
I started by sizing my digi stamps to fit my card front ... and then the coloring began. These feisty little felines were just what I needed to unwind and chill. Aren't they the cutest!
The background for this card was SUPER fun to create with my new Gelli Plate from Gelli Arts. I haven't made prints since my college art courses ... so this was awesome! Actually, I think this was more fun. Easy to use, easy to clean up, endless things to try ... LOVE! I knew I wanted to use one of my Gelli prints for my background. I've seen so many gorgeous prints from the Vera Lane FB Group and was so excited to finally make/use one myself.
The inside of the card is all about the FABULOUS Crazy Cat Lady! (Who obviously has a FABULOUS sense of humor) I used a scrap from the background print I used on the front ... just to tie it all together. I stamped right on the background print with no problem. (Background print is made with Acrylic Paint) The LADY is a CTMH alphabet stamp set. I inked up my images with Pear and then kissed them with my Lagoon ink ... LOVE how it turned out. And of course ... more doodling!
My Vera Lane FB Group is all about doodling and having fun with your projects so I pulled out my Micron's and White Signo Gel Pen and channeled all of their AWESOME creativity.
I also had fun embellishing with my Tuxedo Black irRESISTible Pico Embellisher from Imagine Crafts. It has the FINEST tip ending that allowed me to go in and add detail to even the tinniest images - LOVE it! When dry it leaves a gorgeous, glossy, 3D finish where applied. LOOOVE!
So, that's the wrap on a super fun card to create.
