#247 Lost in Space with the Fabulous Vera Lane
Monday, March 06, 2017
Happy Monday! I'm super excited because I have the honor of debuting a new set that has just arrived on Vera Lane ... check out the trailer ...
Yes, it is an alien invasion! Lost in space has landed. Check out that Antenae Library ... how cool is that?! All week our Vera Lane design team will be sharing their Lost in Space makes and you'll LOVE seeing what everyone has created!
I've been busy playing with this set and have a couple of projects to share. A card and a spread in my journal.
I did lots of fussy cutting and used one of my gelli plate prints on my card front. I used a craft knife to cut a hole in my card front so the flying saucer driver could peek through.
Of course ... I've colored my images with my Copics.
I also created a Lost in Space layout for my journal. Again ... I used my gelli plate prints for my backgrounds. After I printed my backgrounds I used my Stencil Girl stencils with Tuxedo Black Memento Luxe ink and a sponge dauber. I also used a date stamp and stamped the date they were printed on each page. And then I added a touch of background stamping ... now I have a stack of prints that are ready to go when I need them.
My aliens have discovered that they are a bit off course. They're looking for Vera Lane ... aka ... EARTH ... but they've found themselves on Mars. Obviously, they took a wrong turn somewhere.
There are no fun people to be found on Mars. ... okay ... there are NO people on Mars. Heck, there isn't even a Vera Lane on Mars. At least the color palette on Mars is beautiful! {smiles}
Another set is also debuting today on Vera Lane ... just in time for Easter! Two Hares are part of The Wonderland Collection and they are dreamy!
I'll do a full blog post tomorrow and share the layout I created in my journal featuring these two little cuties. Here's a sneak peek:

The landing gear on my flying saucer is 'up' for the moment ... since it's just hovering.
No alien ship of mine is complete without liquid glass! {smiles}I also created a Lost in Space layout for my journal. Again ... I used my gelli plate prints for my backgrounds. My poor little alien friends ... the search for FUN people and Vera lane continues. At least they found a great message on Mars ... 'Enjoy the Journey'.
I LOVE how this page turned out! I colored all of my flying saucers with my Silver Signo Gel Pen ... it worked PERFECTLY! I used a piece of tissue paper for the light beaming down from the saucer.
This set is SO.MUCH.FUN! I know I say that all the time ... and ... I mean it every time I say it! {smiles}
