#282 4 Rainbows 4 Ways | Vera Lane Studio
Thursday, May 04, 2017I LOVE the rainbow in this new set from Vera Lane Studio ... Unicorn and Pegasus. So much so ... I decided to make a few cards and a journal layout to share. But first ... the set:
Have you picked up this set yet? If you have ... share your creations with us over on the Vera Lane Facebook Group ... we'd LOVE to see what you're making!
I used the saying from Raven and Pixie ... one of my favs! Now on to the rainbows ...
I'm kind of crushing on this card ... it's so stinking happy! And I LOVE the black and white polka dot pattern paper in back ... yes, please!
Happy, playful fun and fabulous! {Details and supplies are listed below for all cards}
This easy on the eyes card is a clean and simple make with a monochromatic feel for the color palette. I think this palette would be great for a guy ... and even a girlie girl like me ... LOL! I LOVE this card!
I had no idea rainbow cards could make me this happy ... she says to herself with every rainbow she makes.
Such a pleasing feel ... this card.
This card was a difficult one to shoot and try to capture. I guess that happens when EVERY thing is glitter ... LOL! I wanted to try something completely new to me and all glitter was it for this project.
I've had this glitter paper (that I used for the card base) for years now and haven't really done much of anything with it. It was time to let it live a little. {smiles}
My silver thread looks white and annoying in the photos, however, it's definitely a background note on the real life card.
I could have said 5 Rainbows 5 Ways ... but I didn't count this one for some reason. This was my place for notes.This is what happens when you get old ... you can't remember what the heck you used so I write it down ASAP!
I went through TONS of glitter. Playing with so many combinations of colors and also different sizes of glitter. I only ended up using 2 glitter rainbows though. This one and the one up above. Glitter happens, my friends. After this rainbow adventure I have no plans on pulling glitter back out for a while ... I'm still covered in it.
And finally, rainbow #4, featured in a journal layout.
I couldn't keep making all of these things with this image collection and NOT make something for my journal! Right?!
So, if you follow my work you already know I LOVE adding color to black and white worlds ... so that was my theme for this layout.
I was super stoked about black glitter clouds ... when do I ever make those?!
So ... I started this layout with my gelli prints. Yes ... I do LOVE these things! After printing I added black ink with stencils for another layer of interest.
On the colorful portion of this layout I wanted a fun, energetic palette. I went through my gelli prints and found this gorgeous blue print screaming to be part of this project.
My entire layout is sealed with Modpodge. I then used my black Pitt pen to add shadows and doodles.
Of course, no layout is complete without doodles, dots and lines with my white Posca Marker. {smiles} That's one of my favorite parts.
I always like adding meaningful {to me} scriptures, quotes, saying, etc ... to my pages. I used a couple on this layout.
'Spread your love everywhere you go.' ~ Mother Teresa and
'Love is the single most important aspect of life.'
4 Rainbows 4 Ways ... do you have a favorite? I'd LOVE to know if you do ... so leave me a comment and let me know!
