#312 God Glory Art Workshop | Vera Lane Studio
Thursday, August 03, 2017
It's my day to share in the Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group ... one of my favorite places to hang out and be inspired. Today I am sharing projects that I created in a workshop I'm taking with Jamie Lynn Doughtery called God Glory Art. I can hardly believe we are in Week 5 of this 6-month long workshop ... it's been such a joy for me!
Week 5 of God Glory Art was about creating bookmarks. Of course, my bookmarks have their own spin on them as I'm using products I already have on hand. In addition to the bookmarks, I created several layouts for my Journaling Bible. I'm also creating another journal for this class, but, I haven't finished my Week 5 projects in it ... yet. {smiles}
This darling bookmark features Star from Vera Lane Studio. I've so been wanting to create her with this scripture ... it's like they were made for each other! Star is from the Floral Park Collection ... my favorite from VLS!
LOVE this collection ... and the sayings are FABULOUS!
I'm super pleased with how this turned out! Star was the perfect choice for this layout.
For my Bible layout, I printed star and the scripture on vellum. I LOVE clean and simple so thought this would work well.
I LOVE how this bookmark turned out! This features Lil Love from the Floral Park Collection.
I made my bookmarks a bit larger because I don't want to lose them in my books or magazines. My bookmarks are watercolor paper and my girls and scriptures are also printed on watercolor paper ... the bookmarks only that is.
Lil Love is a collection that I use often ... I adore her!
Again, I kept my Bible journaling super simple. And, because I printed the images for my Bible onto vellum you can see the scripture underneath her ... you can see it peeking out under her hair.
My images printed on vellum are colored with Memento markers. I heat set the ink between each layer to get it to stay. I did try my Copics on the vellum and that was a definite NO GO!
This is my least favorite of the bookmarks. I was trying something new with my Indigo Prisma Watercolor pencil and I'm not in love with the result. Oh well ... that's part of the process. My bookmarks are colored with Copics.
This bookmark features my very first Vera Lane Studio set ... Birdy ... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her! For the backgrounds of my bookmarks, I used Fireworks! inks from Imagine Crafts.
Birdy is not in the VLS shop at the moment but Janet will add any collection you need if you shoot her an email!

I was so much happier with Birdy in this layout! There is a slight curve in the paper because I didn't close the Bible after making ... I wanted to be sure the glue was dry. The page is now perfectly flat after resting in a closed book.
There is, of course, another verse about sparrows ... but I love this one. {smiles} I'm super happy with this!
I'm so pleased that I can combine my favorite images with my God Glory Art workshop pieces ... so nice!
Thanks for stopping by and check out Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group for some really incredible inspiration!
