Lately, I've been in the much dreaded creative slump. My journal layouts are flopping. My cards are 'ho hum'. UGH! We've all been there, right?!
For this post, I decided to try a trio of projects ... hoping to spark a bit of inspiration. I decided on a journal layout, a card and an ATC, Surely, something will click?!
My card is a simple birthday card. The background is created with Fireworks! and my images are colored with Copics.
Originally, I had planned on using these images in a journal layout ... my layouts have been stinking though ... so I went with a card.
This card features two darling Vera Lane Studio digi stamp sets. First, Cake Sketches.
And ... Little Birds. Little Birds are currently not in the VLS Store, however, Janet will happily add them if anyone requests.
Adorable ... I love these little feathered friends.
These little birds are so cute and I adore them paired with this yummy cake!
The inside of the card features a piece of old book paper that I stenciled with Desert Sand Fireworks!. It brings the front of the card inside and is super simple. I wrote the text with a size F Pitt Pen.
I LOVE this little gal from Maison ... she is one of my favorites! Houses, the Floral Park Collection ... it all equals LOVE!
I've been trying to experiment with ideas in my journal, but, I'm not loving it. Perhaps I should stick to what I know?! LOL! To soften this up a bit and to add some interest ... I tore a piece of vellum into strips and added it to the layout.
Maison is not currently in the VLS Store, however, Janet will add her if requested.
I also used Straight Street for this layout. This is another favorite collection of mine ... these houses are AWESOME!
I used acrylic paint on the background of this layout. I stamped texture on with StazOn ink. I also added black StazOn around the edges to bring the eye in. And ... there is plenty of scribble on the vellum. I used my white Posca Marker for this.
My images are colored with Copics. I used a black Pitt pen to add clusters of dots around the pages.
Finally, I have this ATC card. I adore these little fairy's! I was actually somewhat happy with this card ... thank goodness! This image is colored with Copics. The background is made from a scrap piece of painted paper. I also added some stenciling with my Memento New Sprout ink.
Firefly Fairies are always popping up in the Vera Lane Studio Facebook Group. These little cuties are a delight to color and work with.
I added more texture with a stamp and black StazOn. Washi tape, sparkles and silver metallic thread finish the look.
Thanks for stopping by ... and I hope something has inspired you today!
