#343 Quick, Clean & Simple Vera Lane Studio Cards
Friday, January 25, 2019
I made this little gal while I was sitting in front of the fireplace ... FREEZING! It's been cold here in Kansas and this is kind of how I feel when I'm out in the weather ... but I'm not nearly this fashion forward. {smiles}
This little cutie began her life in my washi tape drawer. Typically, whenever I want to add washi to a project ... it never matches the colors I've colored with! So ... all 3 of these CAS (clean and simple) cards are designed around the washi tape. I picked the tape I wanted to use and then pulled my Copics. It's only taken me about 162 years to think of that.
Warm and Cozy hit Vera Lane just in time for the cold front that has blown in on so many of us. Coloring these little gals in front of the warm fireplace was kind of perfect ... perfectly relaxing!
For the touch of color in the background, I used my Distress Oxide inks. These amazing inks have really become my go-to inks ... I LOVE them ... especially for my mixed media projects.
I'm pretty sure I broke in some of my Copic colors on this gal. I would NEVER have picked these colors if it weren't for the washi ... and I really like them! I use a white Posca Marker for the white accents ... but it's getting a bit ragged. A new one is on my needs list.
I adore these bunnies! This was in my scrap box so I pulled it out and wanted to try adding just a kiss of color. That was SUPER hard for me! I love bold, contrasting colors ... these softer palettes are a HUGE challenge for me ... but that's good. {smiles}
I had a couple of specks in the background so I pulled out my sparkle gel pen and doodled over them ... it worked! I colored with Copics and used a Tim Holtz saying.
These bunnies are from a Vera Lane Studio collection called I Love You Branch. I didn't see it in the VLS store at the moment ... however ... you only have to ask Janet and she will add any set you'd like to pick up for your collection. Janet also keeps a file of all the images that you can check out in the VLS Facebook Group. It's AWESOME!
Guess who else just arrived on Vera Lane ... Hermione! Of course, I had to make a bookmark that matched Harry's (last Friday's post).
THAT cat! So cute! I'm thinking I could use these images for graduations ... and I could even make me a little ole' church choir! That would be super cute!
I really enjoyed whipping these little guys out this week ... art therapy for sure! I'm looking forward to my studio time tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by and have a BLESSED weekend!
