#350 Be Bold Faith Journal Layout Featuring Vera Lane Studio
Wednesday, March 06, 2019
This layout almost got ripped out of my journal ... but it didn't! It actually became a finished piece:
I began this project thinking I wanted to practice collage techniques:
I took an online collage class and thought I'd try putting something together with color and my digi images.
If you've seen any of my posts ... you already know that I am smitten with Adorabelle ... LOVE this image! This Adorabelle came with her dress already designed and ready to color print. I colored her face, hair, wings, and legs.
On this page I used ready to print, precolored images. The flower is my sun and I turned a house into a church. SO EASY!
I struggled with so much white space so began to 'mixed media' things up. Paint, distress crayons, stencils, distress oxide ink, white posca marker, indigo blue watercolor pencil ... LOTS of spatters.
I love to include words, scripture and lyrics from old hymnals and Bibles that I've picked up at thrift stores.
Lots of mark making techniques were required to eat up some of that white space and ... it is so relaxing!
And spatters! Spatters are SO.MUCH.FUN!
So there you have it.
I used Adorabelle and Collage Elements from Vera Lane Studio:
Adorabelle ... check out all of the gorgeous pre-colored dresses she comes with!
Pretty Little Houses ... LOVE! I used a house and a flower for this layout. I printed on my color printer and then fussy cut. LOVE how easy this was! I'm glad I resisted the urge to rip these pages out of my journal ... I'm kind of liking this finished piece.
Thanks for stopping by and have a BLESSED day!
